sideline saturdays.

This past weekend felt like a whirlwind. For the first time in a long time it felt like I was living my “normal” again. That “normal” is something I’ve been working really hard at getting back to for most of this year. But that’s an upcoming blog post for another day. This weekend Camden had a Soccer tournament in Frankford, DE. It’s been my rule in our home, that unless you are scheduled to work or sick, you show up for your Siblings games. WE SUPPORT EACH OTHER. PERIOD. Family over everything. Full transparency always—this doesn’t mean the Kids are always open and enthusiastic to getting up early and sit on the sidelines all day. Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of complaining. But they go. At the end of the day, we have a great time together and we show up for each other on the sidelines. My hope is that one day, when the Kids are adults and maybe have Families of their own, they will remember this time that we were always together, showing support. That’s this Mama’s hope anyways. Time will tell.

Camden had 2 games, one in the morning and one is the afternoon. We had time to kill in between games. We were close enough to Ocean City, we stopped at one of our favorite eats in Fenwick, DE Crab Cake Factory . CCF has the BEST Bloody Mary’s, I highly recommend their Triple Threat! We had a lovely brunch on the Bay and then went to the beach. The waves were ROUGH. So we didn’t stay long. But it was nice to put our feet in the sand for a short time.
